Gill Fox

Gill Fox was an artist, writer and editor of the Quality Comics Group from 1940 to 1943. He began his career doing sports cartoons in L.I. Press. He also joined the Fleischer animation studios. After a brief stint at the Chesler shop, he went to Quality. Fox worked at Quality during the heyday of the company, drawing among others 'Plastic Man'. During World War II, he drew 'Dogface' and 'Bernie Blood' in Stars & Stripes. Later on, he worked at the Johnstone and Cushing Art Service, where he cooperated among others on the first 'Hi and Lois' strips with Dik Browne. Among his other credits are 'Bumper to Bumper', 'Jeanie', 'Wilbert' and 'Wendy's World'.
